We have enough negative messages sent to our girls that weaken their self-esteem, image, confidence, and worth. We are here to replace those messages with the TRUTH! You are a DIVA and nothing less.

This program is designed to Educate, Equip and Empower girls through Dialogue, Encouragement, Self-Enrichment, and to build character, promote friendships and personal growth as they move from one developmental stage of this program to the next.

About 

The 5 W's of D.I.V.A.S.

WHO are we?

A community-based program passionate about cultivating the next generation of beautiful young ladies through the various transitions from childhood, through adolescence, and into adulthood. We are a team of women invested in the potential and productivity of our girls.

WHAT do we do?

Our mission is to: Educate, Equip, and Empower girls ages 13-17 through Dialogue, Encouragement, Self-Enrichment, and to build character, promote friendships, and personal growth.

WHEN do we meet?

The 2nd Saturday of every month from 1:00pm - 2:00pm (virtually) or in-person.

WHY do we exist?

Our vision is to create a safe place for young girls to voice their concerns, fellowship with their peers, & forge new friendships, all while being empowered, building Christ-like characteristics as they move from one developmental stage to the next.

HOW can YOU be apart?

Girls ages 13-17 who wish to join, and women who wish to volunteer as mentors, send an email to divas1@shinedc.org

Program Leader

Martha Kent is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a passion for supporting personal growth and resilience. With a background in therapy and public health, she brings a holistic approach to mentoring, focusing on both mental well-being and overall life satisfaction. Martha

believes in fostering safe spaces where individuals can explore their strengths, overcome challenges, and achieve their full potential.
